XIM University is established under The Xavier University, Odisha Act, 2013, and The Xavier University, Odisha (Amendment) Act, 2021. XIM University sees itself as a quality university fostering quality education under the spirit of “Magis”, a Latin word which essentially means “more” or “greater”. In line with the spirit of “Magis”, XIM university targets to enable people to live extraordinary lives and be the light for the world.
XIM University inherits the legacy of Xavier Institute of Management, a premier world class B-School in the country. The identity of XIM University is distinguished by its philosophy of ‘Inspiring Futures’ by not just walking the well-trodden path but striking out and exploring new paths. There is a clear intent to be the first to respond to the needs of the society and enable the building of sustainable communities that inspire the future world serving as an active agent of change.

Xavier Institute of Management
Xavier Institute of Management owes its origin to a “social contract” between the Government of Odisha and the Odisha Jesuit Society in 1987. It is acknowledged internationally as a world-class business school, which provides quality management education and develops future-ready managers with strong ethics and values. XIM University is promoted by XIM society and has grown from the three decades of distinguished existence of XIMB.
XIM not only imparts management education but also implements development projects in collaboration with international agencies and the Government. The Institute creates opportunities for the growth and development of local entrepreneurs, contributes to management research and strives for overall industrial development of the country through various innovative consulting projects. The Board of Governors of the Institute includes representatives of the Jesuit Society, the Government of India, the Government of Odisha, eminent industrialists and educationists.
